As some of you may know, yesterday was my 28th birthday. Marlene treated me to dinner at City Square Steakhouse in Wooster, Ohio. I had heard rumors of good beef creeping around the neighborhood, but had not yet experienced it for myself, so managed easily to keep my excitement at a minimum. Now however, I have got to join the bragging bunch. This was without a doubt the best meal within 50 miles of here. I am truly impressed. Great atmosphere, great service and most importantly great beef. Don't fear the 24 oz. porterhouse. It is tremendous!

Good Monday everyone! An exciting week on tap ahead for us. Tomorrow I'll load up the stock and head to Belton, Texas for the Southwest Type Conference. We have one Hampshire boar going this year. Our gilt is real nice, but seems to have injured herself, so she won't be attending the pig festival. I'll have another boar on the load from my neighbor, Matt Redick, a yound man who is just getting started in the pig business and got his first few sows from me. I am happy to see all of the progress he is making with his sows and he's sending a real sweet York boar to Belton.

It's a long drive, but I'll have great company - a little bit of nostalgia riding with some of the same breeders my dad used to haul with when he was in the business ears ago.

We passed by another of the MUST STOP! MUST EAT! locations on the LP map of restaurants tonight. The Hoosier Beef House, right off I-74 - last exit in Indiana right before the Illinois line. After this meal, I'll rest well and be primed and ready for the Angus sale preview tomorrow morning at the Illinois Beef Expo! See you live on the .TV at 8AM!
