What's on your mind?
February 18th, 2009 , by BJEThings are slowing to a more sustainable pace here at LP World Headquarters this week. We're off to the Illinois Beef Expo tomorrow to broadcast their purebred sales on LATV, but compared to recent weeks, thats not much travel at all. Marlene tells me that I was on the road 28 days in January - whoa! No wonder she's hoping to get so much work out of me around home before I leave tomorrow!
Publishing a new edition of Across the Fence has been on my mind for a while now - and I hope to get it out before the weekend. I thought I'd ask you to provide some input to this next edition. What is on your mind? What are you concerned with right now? What information would make a difference to you in the coming weeks and months? Respond to this blog post and I'll be sure to include your ideas in the next issue of Across the Fence.
Sunshine!
February 17th, 2009 , by BJEMy wishes for the day were granted! The sun shined all day in northeast ohio, making a wonderful day for a few photo retakes that needed to be completed. Check the new, sunnier versions of the Simmental photos in the Black N Blu farms album and the Ferguson Show Cattle album on the photo site. The second wish you ask? A new car, to replace the crashed up pickup!
More Sale Photos Posted
February 16th, 2009 , by BJEAnother set of sale photos have been posted to our photo site. Click here http://photos.livestockpromotions.com/index.gallery.php?gid=34 to view photos from Black & Blu Farms. Tom Blust has consigned this bull to the Ohio Simmental Sale at the 2009 Ohio Beef Expo. The other picture in this gallery is a Maine-Anjou steer by Cowboy Cut. Be sure to look these photos over, and if you get the chance, swing through Mansfield, Ohio and meet Tom Blust. Top Notch!
Ohio Beef Expo Sale Cattle
February 15th, 2009 , by BJEWe've been busy hitting the road the last few weeks taking photos for the Ohio Beef Expo purebred sales. All told we pictured about 40 head of Maine-Anjou, Simmental and Limousin cattle for Rowe Farms & Co., Ferguson Show Cattle, Haley Farms, Pleasant Home Cattle Co. and Hagans Show Cattle. Check out all the photos at http://photos.livestockpromotions.com/index.php
Don't forget to browse the Diamond M gallery for Maine-Anjou females and bulls for sale as well!
Here's my favorite photo I've ever taken! Just last week at Rowe Farms - The bull's name is House Call, and he'll sell at the 2009 Ohio Beef Expo Maine-Anjou Sale.

Our Intern
February 13th, 2009 , by BJEWe've been working on a new project here in the office and I've sequestered a quarter long internship from OSU/ATI here in Wooster to get the ball rolling. Our intern in Nathan Long, from St. Mary's, Ohio and for anyone who may have a livestock production job opening in the near future, you need to meet this young man. He'll be graduating from ATI at the end of his internship here at LP and hopes to attain a position in livestock production. It's been refreshing to work with a young individual who still has good old fashioned drive and initiative coupled with an understanding of new technology and and embracing of new ideas.
