PrimeTime
February 12th, 2009 , by BJEThe PrimeTIME Showman's Handbook has arrived!
For quite some time, I've been elated when my spring handbook arrives in the mail. It seems the handbook was my guide through the midwest during show pig/show lamb hunting season while my sisters and I were in 4-H and FFA. Now I get to play a big role in the production of the magazine, so it's every bit or more exciting to see each issue come.
Look for it soon in your mailbox or at the next show/sale you attend or visit www.primetimeagrimarketing.com to sign up for the PrimeTIME advantage club if you do not already have a subscription to the Handbook or view the book online!
Illinois Pork Producers
February 4th, 2009 , by BJEThis afternoon I gave a marketing presentation at the Illinois Pork Congress. It was a. Long drive to Peoria last night, but well worth the trip. My presentation was geared toward helping producers market their purebred swine and showpigs. I always enjoy having the opportunity to exchange ideas with folks of similar interests, so working with this producer group was an enjoyable experience.
Lotus
February 4th, 2009 , by BJEToday was a sad day at 330 Livestock. Our foundation sow, Lotus, made her way to her new home in Elwood, Ind. Fortuanately for her, Kent has built a sow palace she can proudly call her new home. Too much time on the road has called for a short break in production in Wooster, but we have some great partners in the Jarrett.crew. I can't wait to see our babies later tonight!

Finding the Light
January 29th, 2009 , by BJEI can usually find the bright spot in any situation. It's kind of a gift I cherish. Still today I'm finding it very difficult. Last night was a late one, and for those who know me, you know late for me is really late. By 3 I had laid down for a short nap. At 3:30 AM I awoke to a phone call from Northwest Airlines letting me know that my 6:40 a.m. flight had been cancelled. By 4:00, I had decided that with all the snow and ice, I had better start making my way to the airport. At 4:45, I lost control of my truck on the ice and hit the guardrail along I-71. Luckly, no one was injured. My truck however sustained some serious damage and is now sitting in a wrecker lot while I am sitting in the Minneapolis airport waiting on the next flight to Omaha.
It may take a while to find d the light in all of this, but I guess for now the bright side is that the day can only get better from here! Good luck today and be safe!
